I Love Life In Tokyo (DJ Matt Medley Mashup)

“Welcome in high society.”
There’s no other place in the world I’m more excited about deejaying in than Tokyo. Sooo… promoters, get at me! I’ll be there in a heartbeat. This is a start of a couple remixes in this theme, I’m currently working on some proper crazy J-Pop Bmore remixes.
This is a pretty simple mashup, it’s Japan’s “Life In Tokyo” vs - Larry Tee’s “I Love U (Bart B More Secured Dub)” I usually perform it live but I can’t share it with Tokyo that way! I also did a few other versions of this with some heavy synth and a few change-ups, but I like this one most, Baltimore Club meets one of my favourite Retro Classics.

And here’s a promo video of the original:
Automatic (Dj Medley Bmore Hip Remix)

“All systems run aground.”
Okay, so I’ve already remixed and posted a Pointer Sisters track… but that one was extra cheesy and I played less times than I can count on one hand. Here’s something a little more my style. I love this track, had no idea it was the Pointer Sisters. It’s off their 1984 album “Break Out.” Flipped, re-edited and backed with a Baltimore Clubish hip hopish beat. Straight jackin those samples!

And here’s the video for the Pointer Sisters performing on Soul Train:
U Sure Do (Matt Medley What What Bmore Remix)

What what? Okay! Alright, this one is pretty simple. Just a re-edit of Strike’s classic house banger “U Sure Do” with the basic bmore “Think” break and some very over used Lil’Jon samples. I was gonna do much more with this remix, but I dropped a preview of it the other night just for fun and it went over very well. So, here it is!

This Beat Is Hot (DJ Medley Flash House Remix)

“Here’s one that’s cool, crazy, improved, super and… sincerely yours.”
B.G. The Prince Of Rap aka Bernard Greene’s hit song from 1991. Remixed by Dj Medley for all you ol’school b-boys & b-girls out there.

And here’s the video for the original:
Slow Down What We Do (Medley Remix) - Freeway, Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel Vs. Gonzales & Teki Latex

“If my kids hungry snatch the dishes out ya kitchen” One of the best hip hop lines of all time.
For the record, music is entertainment. Just because I love the movie Scarface, doesn’t mean I love shooting people and selling drugs. People take what’s said in songs too seriously sometimes, it’s just entertainment. Drug dealing gangsters are entertaining. Don’t go selling drugs and robbing people cause your favourite rapper said he used to do that. But when I first saw Freeway, I was a little scared. Dude looks like he’s lived the life for real.
Freeway, Jay-Z & Beanie Sigel’s flow is ridiculous on this track. Loved it since 2002? 2003? One of my favourite gangsta rap tracks of all time. And this “Slow Down” remix of Gonzales by Gonzales with Teki Latex! So good that I didn’t want to touch it, but the beat was too good not to. If you don’t know who Gonzales is, check him out, he’s crazy. He produced a bunch for Feist and collaborated with Peaches and some other cool stuff. So yeah, nuff said, mashed up the two, made a new track, kept some vocals from the original and what not. I did it all on my laptop speakers and haven’t played it out yet so the levels might be a little off. And Freeways vocals go out of time slightly, I warped it quite a bit but referring to the original, it’s even more off, I think the producer was probably too scared to tell Freeway he wasn’t on beat or to fix it…

The Reward Is Cheese (DJ Medley Funk Fingers Remix)

The Reward Is Cheese (DJ Medley Funk Fingers Remix)
Here’s an electro remix I’ve been bumping for a minute, it’s fairly simplistic but it has been going over well in the clubs. Deadmau5 Vs. Jelo’s “The Reward Is Cheese” with vocal samples from Armand Van Helden’s “Fun Phenomenon,” 20 Fingers’ “Short Short Man” and Lil Louis’ “Everybody Reach to the Top”

IKO IKO (DJ Medley Baltimore Club Remix)
“Jock-A-Mo”
Video samples from “Powaqqatsi”
Iko Iko (Bmore Remix) - Medley
Remix contains samples from The Belle Stars, Glass Candy, The Dixie Cups and Partners-N-Crime versions of Iko Iko. Originally a song called Jock-A-Mo written in 1954 by James “Sugar Boy” Crawford. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iko_Iko
Remix and video editing by Medley.
Remix This! Promo/Freon Is Dead (Dj Medley Remix) Video
††FREON††
Coming from Paris, mixing Bmore with Electro, and creating a monster banging anthem! But the track had no vocals, it was just begging for a little somethin-somethin. So here’s Medley’s version with samples from Duran Duran’s “White Lines”, Notorious B.I.G.’s “Nasty Boy” and Janet Jackson Ft. Khia’s “So Excited” this track will go “on and on and on and, on and on and on and.”

Born along the Sputnik orbit,
Rodion is a casiocore funker,

Rodion absorbed the right dose of Italo and Cosmic radiations
and found himself into the bizarre galaxy of the german label Gomma.

Waters of Nazareth Vs Stuntin Like My Daddy (Dj Medley Mashup) - Justice Vs Birdman & Lil Wayne

Here’s an older mashup of mine, one off my It’s Not Hip Hop, It’s Electro mixtape of 2006. It’s just the one hook over the Justice beat with lots of time after for all you deejays out there to add your own style to it. Wicked, dirty, distorted, french electro at it’s best! Enjoy!

I Want You Back Vs. Discoteka Vs. Planet Rock (Dj Medley Mashup) - Dre Skull

Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” is one of the greatest songs of all time, everyone from every generation loves it. It without a doubt has one of the most amazing chord progressions I’ve ever heard. It always packs the dancefloor and has people singing along to it. A couple years back Z-Trip made a sweet, simple, “stay true to the original” remix for the Motown Remixed compilation. If you don’t have it, go get it, the whole series is wicked! This year Dre Skull has taken things to the next level with his Baltimore Club remix. Since it came out I’ve been playing it at almost every gig.
“I Want You Back” is one of those tracks that you can’t really mashup cause other lyrics just don’t fit over top of it. Reason being is that the musicians are actually able to speak with their instruments. If you listen to the bass line and guitar you can hear them almost pronounce the hook. So yeah, my mashup doesn’t really work and I wasn’t going to post it… but I gave it a go live a few times and the reaction was pretty wild. So here it is. Jackson 5 Vs Starkillers Vs Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force.

Give It To You Vs. Irreplacable Vs. Bombs Over Bagdad - Eve Ft. Sean Paul Vs. Beyonce Vs. Outkast

Hot for 2007, this track is blowing up the clubs right now. The double time hip-hop tempo of this track is really what inspired me for this mashup.
I have a love/hate relationship with Sean Paul; I can’t listen to any of his music, personally it drives me nuts. However, he’s made the Dj job so easy. Walk into a club play some Sean Paul, some Timbaland, some Nelly Furtado, some Fergie, some Justin Timberlake and boom, the floor is packed and the girls are going crazy. Thank you for making my job easier. However, you also make being a good selector, with good taste in music and spinning the real stuff that much harder… so… yeah, no thank you for that one.
Here’s the track with a little Dj Medley flavour. To the left, to the left.

Where’s Your Love At - Basement Jaxx Vs. Justin Timberlake

Okay, so everyone and their mother has done a mashup of Justin Timberlake’s “My Love” and who can blame them? It’s a sick beat with a flexible tempo. I used the speaker blowing, bass heavy “My Love Ruf Dubstep Remix” as the instrumental and threw on some looping lyrics from Basement Jaxx’s “Where’s Your Head At.” It’s pretty simple, but’ll get the booties shaking.

Ayo Technology [She Wants It] (Dj Medley Remix) - 50 Cent Featuring Justin Timberlake And Timbaland
![Ayo Technology [She Wants It] (Dj Medley Remix) - 50 Cent Featuring Justin Timberlake And Timbaland](http://www.djmedley.com/blog/pictures/ayo-technology.jpg)
Here’s a remix I made purely to get some booties shaking. Timbaland, Timberlake and Fifty!?!! What a club killing combination, the original track samples a “chiptune” called Summertime part 2, by Manfred Linzne aka Pink. Special thanks to www.rlslog.net for pointing that one out. Simple 808 beats with some repetitive samples ala booty or baltimore club style. Kinda has a feel/style of it’s own though. You can expect a 12″ white label release of this and a few other remixes I hold off from posting online in the near future.

Party Like A Pop Star - Da Shop Boyz Vs. Men Without Hats

This summers biggest hit and hottest club banger is without a doubt, Da Shop Boyz - Party Like A Rockstar. Here’s my Mashup of it with Men Without Hats - Pop Goes The World and couple samples from KRS One’s - Sound Of The Police and The Vengaboys - We Like To Party (Extasy Remix). If you like 80’s retro top 40 bastard pop, this one for you.

So Excited To Get Low - Pointer Sisters Vs. Lil’ Jon

You should be ashamed of yourself for liking this song! I like it too, and I just can’t hide it, I’m about to loose control and I think I like it. “To the window - to the wall!!!” Oh this one’s so dirty, but it gets the club singing along and at 204 BPM it gets people dancing like maniacs so enjoy!

This Is Why I Put My Hands Up For Toronto - Mims Vs. Fedde Le Grande Vs. Drop The Lime Vs. Sander Kleinenberg

Here’s one that’s a little over the top. Party Crashers Unite (Trouble & Bass) “Hands Up For New York” version of Fedde Le Grande’s “Put your hands up for Detroit” with sample from “This Is Not Miami” and a sample from “This Is Why I’m Hot.” Yeah, too much going on on one track and it makes for an annoying party track that’ll make anyone from the “Great White North” throw their hands up in recognitional pride.

Let Me Clear My London Bridge - Dj Kool Vs. Fergie Ferg

Hit me with the horns Tony! Once again I’m back to either making a good track bad or a bad track good. I can’t stand the London Bridges track, or anything else Fergie or the BEP do nowadays; however, it’s fun, its catchy and I like the way it makes the ladies move. To be a club dj, you gotta go there. So, I made a version I liked. A very simple mashup but when dropped right, it’ll kill the dance floor everytime. The Dj Kool’s “Let Me Clear My Throat” track is probably the best party track of all time, alongside Fatman Scoop & Crooklyn Clan’s “Be Faithful.”
http://www.djmedley.com/mixes/Let_Me_Clear_My_London_Bridge_(Medley_Mashup).mp3 (direct link)
Burnin’ Psycho Killer - Daft Punk Vs. Talking Heads

Qu’est que c’est? These two are an easy mix to pull of live; but, I recorded the Psycho Killer track off my vinyl copy which is pretty warped. I could probably take the time to remove the flutter in Ableton, but meh. There’s lots of free time after the Talking Heads for you to make another mashup or just let the beat ride. Very dj friendly. Have fun with it.
http://www.djmedley.com/mixes/Burnin_Psycho_Killer_(Medley_Mash).mp3 (direct link)
Oh Yeah! It’s Me Snitches! - Foxy Brown Vs. Swizz Beatz

Here’s a mashup inspired by David Urbonas of FloorPlay Entertainment, Toronto. It’s a little something from the set I did for their launch party, “Body Rock” @ Empire Nightclub. Check out the party pictures on their website.

Baby I Got Your Money, Money, Money - Ol’ Dirty Bastard Vs. The O’Jays

R.I.P. Russell Tyrone Jones (November 15, 1968 – November 13, 2004).
Don’t you hate when a good song becomes “that song from that TV show.” No, it’s NOT the song from The Apprentice. It IS the song from the O’Jays 1973 album “Ship Ahoy.” Unfortunately it’s the clean edit of ODB’s track but the pauses make it kinda fun for the crowd to sing a long to. There’s only one verse of ODB and then it goes into The O’Jays original giving you lots of time to do something creative with it.

Walk It Out To Rehab - Dj Unk Vs. Amy Winehouse

I just had to flip this track once again. This time I’ve either made a good track bad or a bad track good. All depends on your outlook, is the glass half empty, or half full? Walk it out is a pretty annoying track that I still get asked to play, Rehab is an amazing track that I am happy to play. Here’s the two together.

Signature Freak-A-Zoid - Dj Mehdi Vs. Midnight Star

Ed Banger kicks ass. I’m loving everything off of this label. Here’s Dj Mehdi’s speaker blowing track “Signature” mashed up with Midnight Star’s “Freak-A-Zoid” 1983 single off of their fourth album, “No Parking on the Dance Floor.” There’s lots of space after the Freak-A-Zoid lyrics for deejays to drop another a cappella in there.

Da Sexy Body Funk - Daft Punk Vs. Shalone

It’s alive! Alright, I’ve now got this blog thing underway. Up until now it had been in a subfolder on my server till I tested it out and got it customized. I still want to create a PHP calendar rather than using Googles Calendar service; as well, the image gallery is just a temporary solution, but it’s almost there. Posts will be a lot more frequent from here on.
Every mashup artist does a Da Funk mashup, it’s one of the greatest instrumental dance floor killers of all time. I’ve mashed it with Shalone’s “Sexy Body” track. Shalone’s Myspace.

Lookin On The Floor Of The Love Shack - Dj Godfather Vs B-52s

Ahhh yeah, I’m in New York right now and am loving this city, I want to be here more often, it’s very inspiring.
The Love Shack is a pretty cheesy, fun party song by the B-52’s. One that’s always sure to kick up a dance floor at a wedding, but who want to do that. Here’s a version I made that’s a little less cheesy and more suitable for the clubs. Check out the ghettotech pioneer Dj Godfather’s website and buy some tunes directly from his label, Twilight 76’s website.

Dro In The Wind - Medley Remix

Medley’s remix of Trick Daddy’s Dro In The Wind. The beat is sampled from an obscure CD I picked up a few months back while in Chicago. I don’t know the name of the artist who made it. It came in a record sleeve with a bunch of art prints, indie cartoons, noisy vinyl and some writing, a very cool little package. It was found at the notorious “Reckless Records” store.

Do You Love Rehab - Amy Winehouse Vs The Contours

I’m so in love with Amy Winehouse… here’s a mash of the Hot Chip remix of Rehab with the contours. “Do You Love Me” is a 1962 hit single recorded by The Contours for Motown’s Gordy Records label. Written and produced by Motown CEO Berry Gordy, Jr and most famously known for it’s usage in dirty dancing.

Only You Body Movin’ Rainbow Man - Yazoo Vs. Beastie Boys Vs. Busy P

Welcome to the new and improved djmedley.com. I’m taking a more personal and interactive approach with my website. As well, I will be sharing a lot more music with you. I make lots of remixes and mashes but the only time anyone really hears them is when I play out. I’d like to share more with other deejays and have my stuff being played around the world, hopefully this helps accomplish that. To kick things off here’s one of my favourites, the Medley Mash of the 1982 electo originator with Ed Bangers founder Busy P.
